PREPARATORY CULTIVATION
1. Preparatory Cultivation
- Plough 2 to 3 times to obtain a good tilth and form beds and channels .
2. Seed rate/Rooted slips requirement
- 6-8 kg/ha or 40,000 Nos. of rooted slips/ha.
3. Spacing
- 50 x 30 cm
4. Manures and fertilizers
- a. Basal.
- b. FYM – 5 tonnes/ha.
- c. NPK- 25: 40: 20 kg/ha.
5. Other Managements
- Since it is a pasture grass, it grows with the rainfall received over seasons.
Crop Protection:
- Phadka Grasshopper : Hieroglyphus spp.
- Rice grasshoppers : Oxya sp
- Tobacco grasshopper : Attractomorpha crenulate

Management
